Where is my treasure?
Is it saved in a bank to collect interest?
Or
Is it in “church service” so I feel blest?
Is it in my child who needs me so?
Or
Is it in my head in what I know?
Is it here on earth in food and things?
Or
Is it in trying to secure what tomorrow will bring?
OR
Is my treasure laid up in heaven, in you,
no matter what happens on earth or in what I go through?
I pray dear Lord, that the latter is true – please help me to keep my eyes fixed on you.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV)
